RS485 is the most widely used serial standard in industrial environments. It supports multi-drop networks, long cable runs up to 1200m and is the physical layer for Modbus RTU – the dominant protocol in industrial automation. The TRB145 bridges RS485 to cellular without additional hardware.
The TRB145 adds digital I/O alongside RS485 – useful for monitoring alarm contacts or switching outputs alongside the serial data stream. Micro-USB handles bench configuration. The device runs RutOS with the full VPN suite, SMS commands and RMS management.
